Proof of wildlife! This delicate shell was found by bird biologists surveying the river in advance of bridge construction. I hope we will see more protection for wildlife and an end to the use of Round Up and other chemicals by the Army Corps of Engineers.

Ye Olde First Ever Elysian Valley Slow Ride
We launched the Slow Ride in the wake of our neighbor being struck and severely injured by a speeding cyclist. Our community can keep this path safe, even as the city fails to protect pedestrians on the shared path.

Colin Bogart of the Los Angeles County Bicycle Coalition facilitated MRCA surveys on the Los Angeles River and its shared path. We want this space to be safe for pedestrians and wildlife!

Injured Cyclist, Wheeled off by Paramedics
This cyclist tangled handlebars with another cyclist along the LA River Shared Path. It’s not the first time we’ve witnessed someone leaving the path via a stretcher. Safe, slow speeds benefit everyone.
